Career Link Du Jour Interesting article from an usual source, Processor - a magazine and website for "Products, News & Information Data Centers You Can Trust," on interviewing and what sort of candidates to pick. Attitude & Aptitude: Soft Skills In The IT Hiring Process discusses the search for soft skills versus hard skills. In particular, I like this paragraph on interviewing --

"Markham also suggests you stay away from some of the old saws of interviewing. Don’t ask your candidate what color he’d be if he were a color or what fruit he would be if he were a fruit. (These are, after all, insipid questions.) Instead, search for questions that have true relevance to your organization and test the real skills that your recruit will need to survive there."
