WOOT, 2nd link du jour -- behold! The Cheese Slicing Laser!

Hi all. Welcome that was a hectic week that was... interview locally on Monday and with Smiths Aerospace on Friday (wherein they flew me out there and back). So here I sit at the computer awaiting the results perhaps even as early as later this week.

For your clicking pleasure, here is a Link Du Jour -- Innovative Nuclear Space Power and Propulsion Institute -- new forms of propulsion using nuclear reactions but not in the old Orion nuclear explosion format.

A digression --
Was IMing w a friend down Atlanta way and the current employment situation, in Telecom/hi-tech, feels like this -- there once was a flat plain where people moved north in the direction of higher salaries, towards the sparkling polar lights of comfortable retirement. Then a massive implosion of the supporting landscape tore open a rift across the plain. Some were fortunate to be north of the plane when the rift formed. Most were content to be in the south of lower salaries. Many, like me, were engulfed by the chasm of "laid-off." We wander about the bottom of the chasm seeking a way out. Some get lucky and receive a rope thrown from the edge of the northern side and pull themselves back to the northern plains... Others are forced back south, the wall there is not as steep and the chasm easier to escape, but are resigned to a life of lowered expectations. Some find new ways to escape the chasm buy building a bridge from south to north (alternate careers) or creating a tower from the chasm (new startups/business development). However, oddly, the government does not see the chasm, only the north and south plains....
Where will I end up? I continue to look north, correspond to the north and investigate any ladder coming down the north face! Positive, always positive!
